Ted Chiang publishes only occasionally stories, and I would say that everyone is enjoyable and should be read. His novella “Story of Your Life” has recently been picturized in the film “Arrival”. The stories are scattered broadly over the subgenres of speculative fiction, most of them concept driven. If you don’t need action or character development to enjoy a story, this will be a very good collection for you.
